Thorben is originally from a small village near Bremen. He is currently doing his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and started as student research assistant to support the paleobiotech project. In his thesis, he works on the characterization of ancient siderophore biosynthetic gene clusters.
Outside of the lab, Thorben loves to go hiking and mountaineering. Besides that, he restores and drives old motorcycles.
