We congratulate all authors of our latest paper, which is published under the title “Nonribosomal peptides protect Pseudomonas nunensis 4A2e from amoebal and nematodal predation” in Chemical Science!
Soil-inhabitating bacteria are subjected to heavy selection pressure exerted by organisms such as amoebae and nematodes, which constitute their source of food. By using chemical, molecular biological, and bioinformatic methods, we were able to demonstrate, which type of antibiotic cocktail one of these bacteria uses to defend itself against a variety of predators.
