The newly established robotics facility was officially inaugurated at the Biotech Center of the Leibniz HKI. The highly modular platform is the answer to the urgent challenge of the intensifying antibiotics crisis. It enables the identification and development of anti-infectives at a much higher pace and even more reliably, while accelerating the transfer to industry.
During the inauguration Thuringia’s State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Katja Böhler, the Director of Administration of the Leibniz-HKI, Elke Jäcksch, and the head of the facility, Luzia Gyr, cut the symbolic blue ribbon.
The platform was designed and developed in cooperation with the local company Analytik Jena GmbH & Co. KG. Financing is shared by several public donors such as the funding programme „Zwanzig20 – Partnerschaft für Innovation“ headed by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, the German Research Foundation, and the European Regional Development Fund.
