Alex completed his integrated masters in Biochemistry at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom in July 2024 following four years of study. During his final year he carried out his masters project focusing on ancientbiotics within the Harrison laboratory at Warwick School of Life Sciences aiming to help address the need for new alternative antimicrobial treatments to antibiotics.
Alex expressed interest in joining the paleobiotechnology department to pursue his PhD ambition in Summer 2023 and subsequently joined to department in September 2024 on completion of his masters degree. His research focus and interests within the department are on ancient bacterial natural products focusing on molecular biotechnology, cultivation and analysis of ancient natural products.
