Jannis is originally from Berlin and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. In his Bachelor’s thesis, he investigated the effects of Pseudomonas-derived butenolides on the amoeboid actin network of Dictyostelium discoideum. He is currently completing his Master’s degree in biochemistry at FSU Jena and supports the research group as a student research assistant.
Outside of his lab work, Jannis enjoys hiking and can usually be found out in nature.
